Job Title - Camera Installation Technician

Location: Edinburgh (EH4), Scotland

Salary: £30k per annum, plus overtime
Contract: Full time, permanent (3-month probationary period)

Time Lapse Scotland Ltd is a successful, small and fast-growing Edinburgh based company providing time lapse filming and time lapse camera installations within the construction sector throughout Scotland, and the UK. We currently have a vacancy for a Camera Installation Technician.

The Job

This is an exciting and dynamic role that involves building, deploying, and maintaining our timelapse camera systems across Scotland and the UK. This position will take you to a wide range of construction sites, allowing you to witness and capture the progress of the biggest construction and engineering projects in the UK. In addition to this, you will have the opportunity to meet with both existing and potential clients, as well as conduct site surveys for new projects. You will also have the opportunity to work on filming and drone shoots. All necessary training will be provided.

The Role

Building, deploying and maintaining our fleet of time lapse camera systems. You will regularly liaise with clients verbally and via email, maintaining professionalism at all times. You will also complete site surveys for new projects to identify suitable camera installation positions. Additional work tasks will also be required to help support the business. You will work between our Edinburgh office and client sites. The ability to get to a site in full PPE at short notice is required, and often in a wide geographical area. Transport will be made available for this, and overnight stays will also be required.

Required Skills

  • You will need to be prepared to work on construction sites/projects throughout Scotland, and the UK, and be happy with early morning starts, be available to work overtime, weeknights, and/or weekends to meet business demands.
  • The role requires a good level of physical fitness. The work requires the carrying of cameras, moving trailers, mast components and solar/battery equipment. You will also be climbing stairs/ladders/working at heights to reach camera positions.
  • You will need to be hard working, and happy to work outdoors throughout the year in all weather conditions.
  • You will be technical minded and have a practical knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • You must be thorough and passionate about getting a good job done, and have an attention to detail in all aspects of your work.
  • You will need to identify and manage hazards in the workplace, then produce and follow a RAMS document which will outline steps you need to take to manage risks.
  • You will be required to attend training courses to support your day-to-day activities. Courses will include CSCS, harness training, manual handling, PASMA, asbestos awareness, MEWPs and first aid.
  • Candidates must be polite, reliable, trustworthy, presentable, and contactable at all times.
  • Good communication skills, both in person, on the telephone and via email.
  • Ability to follow instructions, manage your own time, adapt to changing circumstances and problem solve under pressure.
  • 3-month probation period working alongside a team member. Once confident in the role you will be expected to work independently.
  • Qualifications/experience in CCTV/electrical field would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Full clean driving license.
